Upon
arrival, you’ll be tempted to stop
and enjoy the front porch rocking
chairs before
even entering your cottage. You can begin winding
down while rocking ‘til your heart’s
content before retiring for the day.
Once you’ve settled in, step outside with a fishing pole or a good book and enjoy our relaxing pond which has been stocked with catfish, brim and bass (catch and release, please). Our paddle boat and benches beside the pond also offer peaceful ways to begin or end your day.
Aunt’s
House Cottage
The
front Cottage, Aunt’s House, is located
near the front of the property where you can enjoy
a view of Bayou Grosse Test from the front porch.
The
front cottage was the home of Richard David’s
oldest sister who never married. She finished rasing
the family when their mother passed away. She was
the oldest and Richard was the youngest at only
6 weeks old. The children all called her “Aunt” thus
the name of the front cottage, Aunt’s House.
Aunt’s house was renovated 1997 and is approximately
100 years old.
The
Solari House
The Solari House was built in 1998 and has the
distinction of being about as old as its predecessor;
being constructed almost entirely of carefully
selected materials salvaged from old barns, cabins
and sheds.
The
Solari House and Alcee’s House are located
under a canopy of large Oaks near the beginning
of the Nature Trail. These 2 cottages are far enough
behind the original to be private, yet close enough
to provide convenience for multiple couples traveling
together.
Alcee’s
House
Alcee’s House was built in 1999 and was
also constructed of carefully selected materials
salvaged from old barns, cabins and sheds. Alcee’s
House is a slightly larger version of the Solari
House and can sleep four making an ideal stopover
for families traveling together.

The Bathroom
Here, your focus will

invigorating about approaching one of these deep,
old, Claw foot tubs fill for your bath. Claw foot
tubs were designed when time was abundant, and
the experience soothed much more than just sore
or tired muscles.
The Kitchen
A deluxe continental breakfast
can be found here in the adorable kitchens. Breakfast
is at your leisure; all the “fixins” are
in the fridge. For your morning awakening, we’ve
also left you some of our famous Community Coffee.

You may choose to enjoy your coffee sitting near
our pond or relaxing on the patio.

just out the kitchen or sitting area door. A grill
it yourself Steak Dinner is available for only
